PRIVACY POLICY

This policy describes the current privacy policies and practices of Sharp Corporation of New Zealand Ltd.

It concerns information Sharp collects about individuals.

Sharp collects personal information about individuals when sales to individuals occur, when we receive warranty claims, when we receive customer queries and when we collect information for marketing surveys.

The nature of the information is usually name, address, telephone number and product information. For credit assessment purposes further financial and employment information may be obtained.

Sharp will use personal information only for the purposes for which it is collected. Sharp does not disclose personal information to anyone except as required by law. Within Sharp, we restrict access to only those in Sharp handling the transaction and providing the services. We take reasonable care to ensure that all information is secure and prevent unauthorised access.

We regularly review and audit our information held and databases to ensure privacy is maintained.

You can request access to any information held by Sharp in respect of yourself. Such requests should be made to Sharp Corporation of New Zealand Ltd Head Office. You can request Sharp to change personal information that is inaccurate or out of date.

This policy applies to the web sites of Sharp in New Zealand.

If in the course of using a Sharp web site you provide personal information about yourself, you agree that we may make an information or database record about you and that Sharp can use the information provided by you to provide the products and services requested by you. In particular, Sharp may require your name and address to deliver products and services to you.

Sharp offers services on its web sites which relate to delivery of product, software available for download, servicing of Sharp products and other services related to Sharp’s business in New Zealand. 

DATA SECURITY POLICY

Sharp Corporation of New Zealand does not store credit card "Card Holder" data electronically at any of our premises. Electronic cardholder data may be received and securely transmitted to a third party service provider ("payment gateway") for the purpose of completing the transaction.

Where credit card data is physically recorded for the purpose of providing goods or services, those details are secured and kept in strict confidence and is only accessible by authorised persons for the purpose of completing the transaction. Once the transaction is finalised, cardholder data is securely disposed of within a reasonable time in a suitable manner as required by the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).
